Disavow Tool on Domain Properties
When Google launched the new disavow tool a month ago, but it does not seem to work with domain properties, i.e. when you verify your whole domain name at once.
Here is a screen shot that says "Domain properties are not supported at this time."
Google Search Console is a free tool offered by Google that helps website owners monitor and maintain their website's presence in Google Search results. One of the features of Search Console is the ability to request indexing of new or updated pages, as well as the ability to use the Disavow tool to disavow links to your website.
Recently, there have been some issues with these features in Google Search Console. Here's an update on what's been happening and how it may impact website owners.
Request Indexing Issues
One of the most common issues reported by website owners is that the Request Indexing feature in Search Console is not working properly. This feature allows website owners to request that Google re-crawl a specific URL, or a group of URLs, in order to get them indexed faster.
According to Google, the Request Indexing feature has been experiencing some technical difficulties and has been temporarily disabled. In a statement, Google said: "We're currently experiencing technical difficulties with the Request Indexing feature in Search Console. As a result, this feature is currently unavailable. We apologize for the inconvenience and are working to fix the issue as soon as possible."
It's important to note that this issue does not impact the normal crawling and indexing process of Google. While the Request Indexing feature may not be working, Google's algorithms will still crawl and index new and updated pages on your website as part of their normal process.
Disavow Tool Issues
Another issue that has been reported by website owners is that the Disavow tool in Search Console is not working properly. The Disavow tool allows website owners to disavow links to their website that they believe may be causing harm to their site's search performance.
According to Google, the Disavow tool is currently experiencing some technical difficulties and has been temporarily disabled. In a statement, Google said: "We're currently experiencing technical difficulties with the Disavow tool in Search Console. As a result, this feature is currently unavailable. We apologize for the inconvenience and are working to fix the issue as soon as possible."
It's important to note that this issue does not impact the normal functioning of the Disavow tool. While the tool may not be available at the moment, any links that have already been disavowed will still be taken into account by Google's algorithms.
How These Issues May Impact Website Owners
While the Request Indexing and Disavow tool issues may be inconvenient for website owners, they should not have a significant impact on the overall performance of your website in Google Search.
As mentioned earlier, the normal crawling and indexing process of Google is not impacted by the Request Indexing issue. This means that new and updated pages on your website will still be crawled and indexed by Google's algorithms.
Similarly, the Disavow tool issue should not have a significant impact on your website's search performance. Any links that have already been disavowed will still be taken into account by Google's algorithms.
What Website Owners Can Do
If you're experiencing issues with the Request Indexing or Disavow tool in Search Console, the best thing you can do is to wait for Google to fix the issue. In the meantime, you can continue to monitor and maintain your website's presence in Google Search results by using the other features of Search Console, such as the Index Coverage report and the Links report.
You can also continue to optimize your website for search engines by following best practices, such as creating high-quality, relevant content, using descriptive and keyword-rich titles and URLs, and ensuring that your website is mobile-friendly and loads quickly.
In conclusion, the recent issues with the Request Indexing and Dis
